Why do i need a guardian?
Majority of UK schools require overseas students to have an independent, UK based guardian. In fact, every full-time international student under the age of 18 studying in the UK will need an appointed educational guardian. A guardian is a responsible adult living in the UK who can help students make a smooth transition into safely living and studying in the UK.
This is where Nineyards Solutions can step in with our Academic Guardianship service.
Our guardianship service supports prospective students (age 14 and above) with overseas study plans from your planning stage before you even leave your home country to settling into life in the UK. As our guardianship team is made up of young Nigerian professionals based in the UK who were once international students, we are uniquely positioned to offer mentorship and guidance to a younger generation of students and support their parents’ understanding of the ins and outs of the UK education system. Our team is caring, dynamic and creative in the ways that we approach looking after you by initially establishing a warm relationship in a way that other guardianship organisations are not able to offer.
We can assist with:
- communicating with your school or college prior to your arrival, and on an ongoing basis for the duration of your programme
- arranging your secure private travel accompanied by screened individuals from the airport to your school or college and for any future trips within and outside the UK
- getting a UK Sim card
- booking temporary accommodation during holidays
- opening a bank account (including for under-18s)
- shopping for the notoriously unpredictable UK weather
- registering with a hospital or any recommended support service booking flights and accommodation during holidays
- 24/7 emergency assistance with regular visits to students
- attending meetings, events and parent evenings on request
- applying for and arranging work experience in the UK
Our services continue for the duration of study – we often act as emergency contacts for students and attend school meetings on behalf of parents. We work directly with students and tutors to identify areas of weakness to improve academic performance.

Fees
We offer a personalised service depending on your unique needs. Our fees are charged at the beginning of the academic year for the one-year period, starting from £2,500 + VAT. There are no hidden or running costs - you will only be charged for any additional services you request (taxi, accommodation etc) with the fee agreed in advance.
You can then leave it with us to look after your needs for the rest of the year!
